ChiNamibia inspired from CHIPAWO Zimbabwe which was established in 1989.
CHIPAWO is an Arts Education for Development and empowerment trust that works with children and young people in child development and Arts Education.
Therefore ChiNamibia was inspired by CHIPAWO to become a like-minded organisation where we teach arts and culture to the children and young people in Namibia.
To provide arts education for the development of our society through enriching children and the youth by giving them a platform to develop and express themselves through arts and culture and ensuring that arts can be an opportunity for job creation.
- To be one of Namibia’s leading arts NGO for the Namibian children and youth by Ensuring knowledge of diverse culture in Namibia and to appreciate Arts and culture education.
- Involve children and the youth in the Khomas region and Namibia as whole in a creative learning process regardless of their gender, race, social status, ability and disability with the goals of reaching out to other regions.
- Giving a platform to children to air their views through means of Arts and Culture.
For CHINAMIBIA to be the foundation of self-discovery through arts exchange programs with other like-minded organisation in and outside the boarders of Namibia and to provide initiatives that have powerful capacity to bring change through arts and other child and youth friendly methodologies.
To provide initiatives that informs and affects behaviours and mind-set change on issues such as health (HIV/AIDS), democracy, gender, abuse, rape teenage pregnancies, climate change, sports, arts and as well as children’s rights through the means of working closely with the Ministry of health and social services as well as the Ministry of Gender Equality and child Welfare and other institutions that promotes children issues.
