ChiNamibia launch was held on the 15th March 2013 at the Katutura Community Arts Centre (KCAC) Boiler House.

The organisation was officially launched by Mr Ivan Scheffer Senior Education Officer On behalf of Mrs Retha Louise-Hofmeyer-  Former Director of Arts in the Ministry of Youth National Services Sport and Culture.

CHIPAWO Manager Ms Chipo Basopo was also present at the official launch and gave a brief description of Chipawo and how ChiNamibia came about in being a sister organization to CHIPAWO.
